An exquisite, genuine antique, Victorian to early Edwardian era wedding headdress, wedding crown, or bridal bandeau.

Beautiful and scarce, this romantic wedding crown is made of French linen flowers, wax orange blossoms or wax orange buds, linen petals, spun cotton buds, green hand glazed paper leaves, tiny golden stamens, and more. The bandeau is completely and expertly hand made, with hair thin wires wrapped in silk that connect each fabulous bud to the silk wrapped stems. The entire bandeau or tiara is wired, strong and flexible. Each side has a lovely oval loop of blossoms. This came with 2 pieces of antique French lace, 1 Chantilly lace remnant of what I believe was once the wedding veil or part of the dress and small, gossamer fine lace ruffled bandeau. This is a rare survivor and in very good, clean condition. It was dated by the family to the mid to late Victorian era, but had been handed down through the generations and worn in the Edwardian times also. The side loops remind me of a Civil War era bride\'s headdresses. Fabulous to wear with your Victorian or Edwardian wedding gown, or with a modern headdress to incorporate antique charm into your wedding day. Or just to display or collect and love. A GEM from the past, with dreams of the future.......

I show the headdress on a full sized, adult millinery head. The was and flower bandeau measures 23\" long, and if you opened up the loops on each end, it would expand to 35\" or longer. The laces are not connected to the flower crown, they were in the bottom of the box with the crown and I am including them for you. Queen Victoria started the popularity of wearing wax flowers and orange blossoms for a bride, and they remained popular through the entire Victorian and Edwardian era, into the 1920s and even today. The antique millinery flowers are so sweet, so charming and full of history....
