Absolutely gorgeous 1870\'s high button shoes from P.H Herber of paris france the fashion capitol of the world. Leather lowers and satin uppers. It is remarkable that there are few flaws in these old boots. The satin is very good with just a few small splits see pics and it looks as if the shoes came in contact with heat at some time as the leather and satin both have what looks like melting but it does not go through either materials just surface. All original buttons present small hole at top of right boot and one in white lining. Soles have little to no wear there are letters written in marker by some previous owner and a piece of tape? On each sole also by someone else in history :). These shoes must have never been worn or worn very little and stored well because they are beautiful. Soles are straits which range from early 1800\'s upwards but high button boots werent in wide use til 1870\'s and 80\'s onward so between heel style sole style and toe shape they look to be late 70\'s or early 80\'s . Great beautiful boots in amazing antique condition. As with all my antique shoes i have brought them to a cobbler and they have been conditioned. This leather is stiff but no cracks.
