The History
This beautiful pin comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.
During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
Chinese Export jewelry became popular during the late Victorian Period and lasted until the 1960\'s. In a lot of ways Chinese Export jewelry fashioned what we know of jewelry today. During these period\'s Chinese Craftsmen including Jewelers, Stone cutters were considered by far the best in the world.
The rich and wealthy would have a piece custom ordered through their local jeweler whom was usually gifted at drawing a design to send off to contacts in China to craft and send back. As you can imagine, this was not cheap, that being said, these pieces are very rare and few have survived until today.
It was in China—where the gem-carving tradition was already thousands of years old—that jadeite reached its peak as an important artistic medium. The first jadeite reached China in the late 1700s, and late eighteenth and early nineteenth century carvers created masterpieces that are still unsurpassed in concept, design, and technical execution.
Rubies are considered one of the four precious gemstones in the world along with Diamonds, Emeralds, & Sapphires. Rubies have adorned Royal jewelry for years and has been highly prized for their rarity and gorgeous red hues.
The Piece
The Ruby gem stone in this piece is beautifully round cut and show cases gorgeous facets that reflect light off of their surface beautifully! The gem stone show cases its signature light red color with a high quality clarity that is absolutely mesmerizing to look into! The ruby is in great condition and is beautifully placed into the eye of the rabbit!
The Jade gem stone in this piece is beautifully carved into an oval shape and features a gorgeous carving over the top! The carving includes ornately etched details of gorgeous flower pedals and other beautiful features that give it a stunning style. The jade is placed as the body of the rabbit and includes a gorgeous green color with natural white striations that create a beautiful color pattern.
The gold work in this piece is beautifully hand carved out of yellow gold and features a gorgeous design! The gold design is beautifully carved to look like a gorgeous rabbit! The rabbit includes a stunning prong setting for the Jade gem stone center piece as well as a beautiful face, with long ears and details carving that give the rabbit whiskers and a lovely tail and cute feet!
The pin measures 1.75\" long by 1\" wide and is in great condition.
