The History
This beautiful pendant comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.
Persian Turquoise is a highly coveted and rare type of turquoise. It has been mined for thousands of years in Modern Day Iran. The most coveted type of Persian Turquoise is a solid bright blue hue that is very difficult to find. Antique Persian Turquoise would of been very hard to come by, it would have been shipped across the ocean, and this carried a hefty price tag.
Rubies are considered one of the four precious gemstones in the world along with Diamonds, Emeralds, & Sapphires. Rubies have adorned Royal jewelry for years and has been highly prized for their rarity and gorgeous red hues.
The Piece
The Persian Turquoise in this piece is carved into an absolutely stunning cameo! The cameo show cases a lovely woman of an ancient Era with long flowing hair, a detailed face, and the start of her lovely dress. The Turquoise features an absolutely incredible light blue color, with beautiful striations of blue hues and whites that create a gorgeous and natural color pattern!
The ruby gem stones in this piece are both beautifully round cut and show case gorgeous facets that reflect light elegantly off of their surface. The gem stones feature an incredible light red color with a beautiful clarity that is absolutely mesmerizing to look into!
The gold work in this piece is hand carved out of 14k yellow gold and features a lovely design! The design includes a hand pressed setting for the Persian Turquoise center piece with a lovely base behind it. There are also two lovely settings for the ruby gem stones at the bottom of the piece! If you look closely at the Turquoise setting you can see how the setting was hand pressed down onto the turquoise when the gold was softened and being formed!
The carving is finished off with a 14k yellow gold bale that should work perfectly with any necklace you have in mind for it.
The carving measures 2.25\" long by 1.25\" wide.
