The History
This beautiful brooch was made during a period called the Art Nouveau Era! This time was also called \"La Belle Epoque\" in French which translates to \"A Beautiful Time\". This period was in existence from 1890-1914.
This was very true due to the gorgeous designs that came our of this period. The Art Nouveau period was famous for it\'s flowing organic designs, flowing ladies, flowing floral designs, regal designs.
Amethyst has been set in religious jewelry and royal crown jewels for ages. It was once considered equal in value to ruby, emerald, and sapphire. Amethyst has even adorned the fingers of bishops as well as the coronation regalia of British royalty.
The Piece
The Amethyst gem stone in this piece is beautifully oval cut and show cases gorgeous facets that reflect light beautifully off of their surface. The Amethyst gem stones feature a gorgeous light purple color with an absolutely incredible clarity that is mesmerizing to look into!
The gold work in this piece is beautifully hand carved out of 14k yellow gold and features a unique bug design! The design is carved to look like a gorgeous bug a detailed face, carved wings, and even limbs all made out of thick strands of gorgeous yellow gold!
The pin measures 3/4\" long by 3/4\" wide and is in great condition.
