The HistoryThis piece is of Art Deco Era make! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.
During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
Australian Opal was first discovered in the 1890\'s. Most opal at the time only had 2-3 colors, at most, and were very opaque in hue. However, Australian Opal has a beautiful play of color that includes Red, White, Blue, and Green-Orange. This made it immediately coveted by the richest of the rich!
The European Cut was primarily in use from 1890 to 1940. This type of old cut diamond was a step up from the Mine cut which preceded it, it includes more facets to reflect the light and sparkle as well as a larger table than we had ever seen before. This was truly the last type of diamond to be cut completely by hand! These diamonds especially larger ones are very rare, due to being re-cut into modern cuts over the years. All packages are sent via USPS First Class Insured Mail unless another shipping option is chosen by the buyer.
