The History
This beautiful necklace comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.
Based on the style of this gorgeous necklace, we can tell it is of Italian make! Italian jewelry was widelyregardedunder a higher standard. Everything from Italy was hand made, and usually made with high karat gold, precious corals & gem stones.
Precious coral is harvested almost exclusively in the Mediterranean off the coasts of Italy, France, Spain, Algeria, and Tunisia. Mediterranean has widely been valued as the rarest and most beautiful of all Coral types. During the Art Deco Period only the richest of the rich could afford to have this form of coral harvested and imported into Europe and North America.
The Piece
The Mediterranean Coral in this gorgeous piece is beautifully rounded into gorgeous beads that feature a smooth polished surface. Each coral is a gorgeous OxBlood red color and measures in at around 5 mm wide.
The beads are beautifully hand strung on a red string that supports them beautifully. The string is NOT double knotted between each bead.
The necklace measures in at 20\" long and is finished off with a 14k \"C\" style clasp that works perfectly!
