This is a very hard to find gown. It is stock #2097 from 1955, shown on p. 118 of the book, \"Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Madame Alexander Dolls\" by Linda Crowsey. This is a light blue satin gown, trimmed down the front with metallic braid, accented with deep blue faux sapphires and white rhinestones. The fitted bodice features little cap sleeves. The dress has an amazing full full full skirt, longer in back than it is in front so it gives a train effect when walking. This dress is gorgeous....but it is not perfect. If you are looking for a perfect version, please pass. As shown in my photos, there are lots of brownish stains on this dress. The largest is about 1\" in size, and the smallest and just tiny drops, almost like someone splashed a cup of coffee near the doll who was wearing it. I have not tried to remove the stains. There is also a faint pinkish stain, again see photos. The satin fabric is heavy and luxe. I don\'t know if it is real silk or a synthetic, but it is high quality material. The jewels really sparkle. In back, the dress closes with original metal snaps. There is a small, on-seam tear right below the waist/snaps where perhaps a little girl was not careful undressing her doll and stressed the seam. Seems like a simple fix to me but again, I am leaving this decision to the buyer. There is no tag inside this garment. However, when you examine it there is no question it is a genuine Cissy MA garment, and obviously old. It is beautifully made, and part of an enormous estate collection of Cissy dolls and their wardrobe. Because of the stains, this gown is being sold as-is. Please don\'t buy it and then want to send it back \"because it has stains.\" It has stains. It\'s still lovely and may be able to be cleaned by someone who knows how.
I am also enclosing a white feather fan type thing, as well as a flower headband, that I found in the collection. I don\'t know if the feather fan is the original that went with this outfit, or a reproduction that the woman who owned this bought new to complete the outfit. I can\'t tell for certain, but it seems to be newer to me. The flowers look nice with this dress but are not original. From a nonsmoking home.
