A vintage wool work tapestry.This is a well executed tapestry featuring a greek urn full of various garden flowers.The picture is completed in tent stitch and includes roses, iris, tulips,etc, together foliage on a brown background.Unsure of age ( don\'t think its antique), but judging by the work and number of colour changes involved in the shading I would guess it may be Art Deco or mid century English.It certainly is charming and skillful workI have included lots of pictures including the back ( pictures 10 & 11) so that informed buyers can get a clearer idea.The work is done on a hessian type fabric and is unsigned.It measures 56 cm (22\") long x 45 cm (17.75\") wide.
The picture was once mounted into a frame and could be re framed or even better, incorporated into upholstery work. Would look equally good in a modern or cottage style setting.Please see my other items listed this week.
