Vintage Bliss Model A Strip Slitter
This sale is for a used vintage Bliss Model A Strip Slitter cutting machine with a #3 head (3/32\" strips) attached (fine cut for traditional rug hooking and not primitive). I bought this used in approx. 1991 and used until 2003. I think this head was sharpened once by Fraser during hooking years. Not sure how sharp it is now. It has been stored in a closet since then. Finish on cutter is somewhat nicked but there is no rust or damage on working parts. Handle is straight and smooth. Also included are 2 additional heads: #4 (4/32\" or 1/8\" strips) and #5 (5/32\" strips). I hardly ever used #4 and never used the #5 head. The cutter originally came with black suction \"feet\" but I didn\'t like them so replaced with 4 \"stationery\" heavier rubber feet and would cut with machine sitting a little piece of the material (included) you put under area rugs to keep from slipping on hardwood floors. I am including the original suction feet and another set that I acquired somewhere. These machines are still being made in USA ($360 new) and supplied by Harry M. Fraser Co. in Stuart VA if you need additional heads. The wrench for replacing cutter heads is included. The instruction sheet for replacing heads and maintaining cutter is included.I am also including a pair of Cutiecut made in Germany double bent handle scissors that allow you to snip strip ends flush to the rug. They are approx. 6\" long with approx. 3\" long blades. These scissor may need sharpening. In last rughooking years I used the sharper/smaller scissors for fishing line. I am also enclosing little gizmo I used to use to keep from losing the scissors. Clips on your blouse/shirt and has a retractable leash that allows you to snip and keep scissors handy. Often used strong magnets on the rug to hold scissors and though they aren\'t in photo, I will throw those in too (shipping is flat rate so no additional shipping cost).Am including two great pairs of tweezers or burling irons for times when you have to pull out some strips (always grab from the back of rug especially if using burlap). Please email any questions BEFORE offerding.
