The bronze shows the young very pretty girl hearing the call of God to help defend her beloved France. The bronze is beautifully finished and is in it\'s original very rich golden chocolate brown patina or color. The bronze is identified on a bronze plaque at the foot of the base \"JEANNE D\'ARC\", It is signed around the back \"H. DUMAIGE\". Etienne-Henri Dumaige (1830-1888) studied under Feuchere and Dumont. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1863-1866. He is known for his bronzes of historical figures and classical subjects.
