Caterpillar D25U- I am selling my D25U5, with winch. Let\'s start with the pony motor, she pop starts on the button and runs great. The starter has new brushes and starts on 6 volt. The clutch pinion breaks perfectly, the diesel engine starts with ease. Great engine with lots of power. The steering clutches are in great condition, you can spin on a spot in either direction. The breaks are good as well as the blade. The breaks, blades, hydraulics and under- carriage are all good. The gear box is smooth. Everything works, and works well. I didn\'t use the winch until the end of my project, but as is everything else it worked well. It nearly pulled my tree out! A quick background, I bought her six months ago. I was completing a home project, which is now over. Unfortunately, I must sell to move to the next phase. After some research, we uncovered this model was used for the US Army, to clear Yosemite, for the influx of people, after the war. I believe this to be accurate. This made sense when it came to the filters. The ones in the engine were US Army filters, from when she was US government property. Needless to say, an oil change was necessary. I changed the oil and traced a modern filter, ran her for a week and changed the oil again. This is the same for the gearbox oil and coolant, all have been changed twice.
