You are offerding on an extremely SCARCE Civil War presentation sword which was presented to Lieut. Kitteredge Haskins 16th VT (Vermont) Infantry Regiment. The sword features the most ornate eagle head I\'ve ever saw in all my collecting years and even has feathers down the handle. The eagle is amazingly detailed and appears to be eating the guard just wow! Eagle is bad to the bone... The sword is ornately marked Horstmann and grip is either shark or ray skin which retains the original grip. Blade is acid etched on both sides and features US on the blade and other items drums, trumpets, etc. The guard had the Masonic symbol and flags which is rather rare as you don\'t see this often! Sword fits in scabbard like a glove. Beautiful patina on blade & scabbard... This one comes from my personal collection! hasn\'t had many high quality presentation swords listed in a while here is nothing but quality! Item includes copies of his battle records and his war record history and his enlistment papers as well as a copy of his wartime photo in uniform & him as shown in the photograph listed...
