A vintage (late 1930\'s), high quality, Zeiss Ikon Contax II interchangable lens rangefinder 35mm camera with Carl Zeiss Sonnar F2 5cm collapsible lens. The camera shutter works on all speeds but the slow speeds (1/2 to 1/50 second) are much too slow, faster speeds seem reasonably accurate, the internal focusing wheel works freely, the rangefinder is clear and seems accurate, the self timer works okay, ONE OF THE TAKE UP SPOOL DRIVE PRONGS IS BROKEN (see picture number seven), the take up spool turns but will probably need repair if camera is going to be used. The Carl Zeiss Sonnar lens is clear and aperture works smoothly, the lens mount is Zeiss Contax rangefinder bayonet. Cosmetically the camera shows signs of age and use, quite a lot of paint wear on edges, the back cover has a lot of corrosion bumps under the leather covering (see photo number four) but generally in a reasonable condition, no damage. The lens is in a fair/good cosmetic condition.
