Here is the Corona model 3 portable folding typewriter from the late teens into the 20\'s and beyond of the last century.
The compact \'folding\' feature comes from the ability to flip the carriage forward and over the keyboard allowing a smaller and lighter carrying case. Note that the typewriter has three banks of keys and the keyboard has a double shift, the first for the capital letter, the second for the figure on the typebar.
Now with a new ribbon, the typewriter works as the typing sample shows. Overall condition is good with some wear to the glossy black finish. It can use a thorough cleaning and a bit of lubrication, but even as it stands it would make for a fine display piece. I don\'t expect anyone to write the great American novel on this antique.
It includes the original carrying case in good condition with strong hinges and handle and solid front latch. The front of the case flips forward to aid in removing the typewriter. The handle is missing part of its leather covering and the case does have wear, mostly to the corners. Note that the case includes a brush and a metal vial of lubricating oil (with oil no less).The case with the typewriter weighs about 8 lbs and measures about 12\" W x 4.5\" H x 11\" D. It will be safely packed and quickly sent by FedEx Ground. I charge only the expected shipping cost with insurance. I\'ll refund an overcharge which was significantly higher than the actual shipping cost.
