Folks this is an ORIGINAL pre 1900 DAR pin made by Caldwell dated 9-22-91. Thats 1891 folks. This pin was inscribed on the back \"Fannie Davis\" \"from Father and Brother\". Her identification number in DAR is 24387 also inscribed on the back. If you go to Google and type in her name and number you will find a link that tells you her family members that were in the war. The round wheel pin passed the acid test for 14kt but failed for 18kt. It weights 3.7 pennyweight (DWT) or 5.8grams. The attached bar pin with pearls and chain passed the acid test for 10kt but failed for 14kt. The bar pin and chain weigh 1.7 Pennyweights (DWT) or 2.8 grams. At todays prices that is a combined total of $158.00 in scrap gold. If I start this set at $158.00 I will actually loose money because of and Pay Pal fees therefore my starting price of $200.00. Similar pins are regularly selling for between $250.00 and $360.00 WITHOUT the extra bar pin.
