Here today for your consideration is a 14 inch darling vintage American Character Toni doll made in the 1950\'s. Although she is unmarked Im quite certain she was made by American Character. According to my research the 14 inch American Character Toni dolls were unmarked and made of the same mold as the Sweet Sue doll. I am not the original owner of this darling doll but I believe she is what is referred to by some as the American Beauty doll. When I purchased her she was wearing this adorable dress but unfortunately the black velvet bodice has not held up to well with time. The dress displays very nice but the velvet fabric has gotten a little brittle, not bad to were it\'s completely falling apart but the seams are a little fragile, closing in the back with 3 intact snaps. In the very center front neckline there is a tiny hole, maybe something was originally there that is not now. As shown in one of the pictures I put a beautiful vintage flower that looks very nice, its only on by the stem thru the existing hole, it will come with her. The black velvet bow in between the 2 layers of the skirt portion is great but a little stiff. The bright pink chiffon and pink satin skirt portion is very good but there is one small tear that does not show because its in the folds of the very full skirt portion. I don\'t believe there was ever a hem in the very bottom skirt portion, it would look better if it was ironed. Under the dress she wears, I believe, the original in great condition half slip of white netting with attached light pink satin panties with lace leg closures, closing in the back with a single snap. She has no shoes or stockings. I find no issues with the darling Toni doll. She has all of her hair with no cuts or none missing. She has crystal clear blue open and close eyes that work perfect, her full set of her hair eyelashes, painted lower and side lashes, painted eyebrows, nicely blushed cheeks and sweet red painted lips. She is very easy to pose, but she needs shoes to stand on her own. Toni is in excellent condition. Thanks for taking a look at this darling vintage Toni doll and God Bless.
