Measuring 8\" wide is this round IRRADIATED PURPLE Fostoria American pattern bowl. This piece has a ground polished rim. IRRADIATED PURPLE is an enhanced color achieved by exposure to intense UV light. It is permanent and will not change if you are familiar with sun colored amethyst this is the same process just done with commercial grade light to achieve a color that would take many years in natural sunlight and probably never get this dark. This glass is perfectly safe to use it is the same as any other piece of pressed glass. The condition is good no chips, cracks, or cloudiness, some light use scratches which on any piece of dark color glass show up more prominently more evident on the back ground rim.
