Dutch Colonial 1898 Model Hembrug Klewang

Naval / Police Cutlass Sword From estate storage a Dutch colonial police or naval Klewang / Cutlass;
made by Hembrug with unit / arsenal markings on a brass plate inside the hilt.

Size: 24\" blade; 29\" overall length

First adopted by soldiers of the Dutch East India Company,
later used in combat against the Japanese in WW II.

The Klewang became the basis for the U.S. Naval Cutlass Model 1917.

Overall good pre-owned condition as shown.

No scabbard.
