We are quite pleased to offer this fine English sterling shell and scroll chamber form candlestick.
Bearing family crest.
Rooster atop regimental bugle.
From the well listed Benjamin Smith in 1823.
Beginning in 1802 the firm supplied the royal retailers Parker and Wakelin.
As did Paul Storr whose shop was next door to Smiths.
Classic circular form with boldly cast shell and scroll rim. Winged leaf scallop shell and vine.
Elegant tapering S handle formed as a single leaf.
Original conical extinguisher with matching hallmarks and rooster and bugle crest. Shell accent to handle arm. >
This fine 1823 Benjamin Smith chamber candlestick is 6 inches handle to edge and 15 standard ounces.
Well struck full hallmarks.
In excellent condition. Stands firm on table or serving tray. The shell and scroll retain their original detail. The extinguisher with matching marks and rooster crest.
