We are pleased to offer this English sterling silver Bacchus spout and maiden head handle tea set.

The teapot from William Fountain 1817.

The perfectly matching creamer from Solomon Hougham, Solomon Royes and John East Dix and the sugar vase from Joseph Biggs.

Classic inverted pear shape.

The teapot with beautifully carved Chinese man holding slender leaf.

All over raised leaf and floral in exceptionally high relief. On satin surfaces.

Teapot fluted dome cover with original, hallmarked flower and stem finial.

Each piece with boldly fashioned caryatid (maiden head rising from acanthus body) handles. As found no the finest Georgian tea wares.

Even more striking Bacchus mount spouts. The grape and leaf crowned head rising from floral and shell.

Original interior gold to smaller pieces.

Never monogrammed

This important 1817 English sterling Chinese man teapot is 11 1/2 inches handle to spout and 7 tall and it weighs 35 1/2 standard ounces.

The sugar vase is 8 1/2 inches and weighs 18 1/2 standard ounces.

The cream jug is 7 inches and it weighs 12 standard ounces.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Interior of the teapot clean as if little used. Stand perfectly firm on table or display shelf. The Bacchus spout maiden handles, Chinese man and shell and floral retain nearly all of their original detail. The sugar and cream jug with original gold interior. Small restoration to near bottom of sugar.
