We are quite pleased to offer this important George III sterling silver classical mask tea set.
Period engraved crests. A roaring lion with crown, now worn.
From William Eaton in 1817.
In petal fluted circular form.
Boldly cast shell framed classical maiden heads. In swirling leaf and vine. United by petal gadroon streams.
Teapot with melon fluted and globe cap finial above petal surround. Feathered acanthus cap slender paneled handle.
The cream jug and sugar retain their original gilt interiors.
This rare English 1817 classical masks and shell teapot 11 inches handle to spout 25 standard ounces.
Cream jug is 6 1/2 inches 9 standard ounces.
The sugar vase is 8 1/2 inches and 14 standard ounces.
Hallmarked as shown.
In very fine condition. Stands firm on table or serving tray. The shell and scroll retain their original detail. Handle secure and with original heat stops. Original gold to interior cream jug and sugar. Mild wear shell and masks and worn crests.
