We are pleased to offer this Victorian sterling silver Tenniers teapot.

One of the most coveted designs in English silver.

Signed for Charles Fox, 1883.

His Tenniers silver impossible to distinguish from Edward Farrell. Known almost exclusively for this design.

The squat pear forms adorned with series of Dutch tavern or Tenniers scenes.

Each different.

Based upon the paintings of David Tenniers the Younger (1610-1690).

Patrons outside tavern drinking, playing cards, dancing and making merry.

The cover with drunken man on barrel finial.

Leaf and vine wrap branch form handles. Rising from thick gnarled spread root terminal.

Boldly cast eagles head Old Man of the Forest spout.

Atop equally striking drunken tavern patron holding rod feet.

Never monogrammed

Hallmarked as shown.

Tenniers teapot is 7 1/2 inches and 6 tall and weighs 18 1/2 standard ounces.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Interior clean as if little used. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. Cover close flush. The Tenniers scenes retain most all of their original detail.
