Bernard ~ 1844 Sevres Louis Philippe Mark, Chateau Des Tuileries Mark & Sevres S.37 (1837) Mark. Charlotte-Jeanne Beraud de La Haye de Riou ( 4 October 1738 - 6 February 1806) was a mistress to Louis Philippe d\'Orleans, Duke of Orleans, and ultimately became his wife, however, Louis XV would not allow her to become the Duchess. She wrote and acted in several plays. She is known simply as \"Madame de Montesson\".
The center of the cabinet plate is adorned with a gorgeous portrait of \"Madame de Montesson\" with hues of blue in the background. The rich cobalt rim is elaborately decorated with intricate heavy raised gold and platinum designs which feature scrollwork, flowers, plumes, latticework and eye-catching turquoise jewels. The plate is in MINT CONDITION with NO chips, cracks, crazing or restorations showing absolutely NO signs of wear except for three isolated tiny fine scratches which have been magnified in photo (12).
