Hi, thank you for having a look at my sales.Listed this week is what I believe to be my finest antique silver sale I have ever held to date. I have held hundreds of silver estate sales over the years being our specialty. Although this is not my largest sale by volume, I believe this sale has the largest amount of quality and choice examples that I have ever offered at one time. The items are from a prominent and important estate collection that I have been commissioned to liquidate. A large portion of the pieces being offered are family heirlooms. The items listed are from the private family collection of choice examples that were kept over the years in a large walk in vault. I almost fainted when I was invited into the vault and seen this amazing treasure trove! I highly doubt you will see another sale like this any time soon with each lot being offered of superb quality, condition, and of investment grade. It has been a true pleasure just handling so many fine and superbly made examples. The opportunity to acquire so many choice examples does not arise very often, a sale not to be missed! Up for sale with is an extremely Rare Matching Pair of c1757 John Cafe Georgian Period Sterling Silver Candlesticks. The Candlesticks are modelled as Harlequin figures. The Candlesticks are very finely made of Solid Cast Sterling Silver. The designs and details are truly amazing and much finer than my photos show. The Candlesticks are Hallmarked for London, the years 1757 and 1758 by the fine Period Silversmth John Cafe. John Cafe is well known for doing this Harlequin design which he was famous for and specialized in. I am told there are a number of Silver collecting Books featuring Harlequin Candlesticks by him. The Candlesticks are in amazing all original condition with dents, bends, cracks or repairs. The Candlesticks are also of a nice early Georgian size measuring5-1/2 inches tall by2-3/4 inches wide across the base and have a quality combined weight of338 grams. You will also find a set of matching Harlequin Candle Snuffs in our other items that were later made to match the candlesticks. This is an extremely rare set and something that does not come up for sale very often, mostly being offered without reserve.
