FANTASTIC ANTIQUE CHINESE SILVER CANDLESTICKS C19th DRAGONS FLAMING PEARL

SuperantiqueChinese silvercandlesticks modelled as dragons flyingthrough acloudy sky,with stylized chrysanthemum intheirmouths. The detail is absolutely fantastic andthe casting super crisp. Both are marked with the 90 silver mark and bear inscriptions.

The inscriptions read\'Penang cricket club athletic sports August 1887\' and \'Veterans race 150 yards 1st prize won by J A Harwood\'

John Augustus Harwood was registrar of the supreme court in penang, who went on to become attorney-general of Singapore.

Condition is very good, but one sconce appears to be reduced, frill on one dragon missing, flame on back missing on other, minor dings.
