I adore the elaborate decoration throughout and especially its cherub finial.
All in all a quite stunning coffee pot it has a sturdy silver handle.
Here we have aquite exceptionaland quite lovelysolid silver coffee pot ofterrific gauge and weight for its size.Hallmarksare to base ofbody,the maker\'s mark is for silversmith Robert Degeresme.
Assayed in Paris anddated circa 1870.
It sits on four hoofed feet.
This lovely item is in itself awonderfulpiece of grand French silver.
Its is 1st standard 950 grade purity. Bears Minerva mark too.
Thediameter of the pot is large at 8.875 inches and its height 11.375 inches.
Thislovely pot isofexceptional quality andis a mostdelightfulpiece oftable silver.
It isengravedto both side with a contemporary crest and armorial and always has been(refer to images),definitely no erasures either.
The motto FIDE ET FORTITUDINE translates into \'\'By Fidelity and Fortitude\'\' and is for many families.
Itsweightisa sublime 766 grams (24.63 troy ounces) and the overall condition is terrific (it has a small professional repair to spout,this is very well done and is mentioned for accuracy). This splendid pot still has plenty of life left in it yet.All it needs is to be used!
