This superb quality Victorian silver plate novelty inkwell stands 150mm (6\'\') high x 180mm (7\'\') x 145mm (5.5\'\') across the base and weighs 722 grams. It is marked to the base for the famous firm of James Deakin & Sons Sheffield P7431 and dates to the late 1800\'s and has fantastic detail to the feathers and a brilliant naturalistic life like stance. It has a hinged head which reveals the removable ceramic well and is in good condition complete with its original glass eyes and no repairs some wear to the silver plate and is missing two securing nuts to the base but it still sits securely without them.
