Old Navajo HANDMADE silver bead choker length necklace with geometric stamped designs. In all there are 28 globular beads with soldered and hand filed seams with a wonderful aged patina. The necklace is strung on nylon cord and is finished with a crude silver wire hook and eye clasp. There is one loose bead that comes with the necklace that can be added back to the necklace if desired. The bead matches, but has a slightly darker patina. Coin silver or better. I think that I remember seeing an early Navajo bead necklace similar to this in the C.G. Wallace sale catalog. These silver beads are sometimes called Navajo pearls. This necklace is the real deal, not a newer reproduction!
Excellent quality and condition. Unsigned, as is typical of jewelry of this era - ca. 1930’s. Collector’s item! Museum worthy.
