Eugene Edwards is one of America\'s finest builders and started building rods with his father, Eustis and brother Bill in the early 1920\'s. After his father passed away Gene continued working with his brother building many of the Bristol bamboo fly rods for Gorton manufacturing and then built for Shakespeare, South Bend and Heddon. Bill was a good friend of Paul Young of Michigan and I think his relationship with Paul brought about his doing contract work for these production rod companies.

This is another 3 piece 9\' bamboo fly rod from the builder, Eugene Edwards. It is Bristol grade, probably F12 I would imagine.

I had a question about the rod concerning length of each section and how straight the sections are. Each section is 36.25\" long and they are very straight.  The tip does have a very slight set but very slight!

I found it to cast great with a 6 weight line. 

The rod has no markings but I have owned many Bristol built rods and this one has all the ear marks of those, the wood spacer reel seat, Edwards winding check and Bristol grade ferrules. 

The to is a three piece with only one tip and a replacement bag and tube.
