We are pleased to offer this Gorham 1882 Japanese inspired tea set.

Classic tapering circular forms.

All over hand carved leaf and floral sprays.

An array of lush flowers in various stages of bloom. Carved in exceptional relief. The delicate flowers amidst streaming fern and vine. Atop rich satin surface.

Elegant wavy gadroon shoulder and cover edge. Topped with handsome pomegranate finial.

Life like branch form handle and spout, as found on the original Meiji design. The spout\'s corners sawed off revealing delicately engraved tree rings as real.

The rough striated surface of the bark wrapped in leaf and vine.

Smaller pieces original gold interior.

Japanese teapot is 10 1/2 inches handle to spout 25 standard ounces.

Sugar vase 8 inches 16 1/2 standard ounces.

Cream jug 6 1/2 inches 11 standard ounces.

Waste bowl is 5 1/2 inches and 12 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The leaf and floral sprays and branch handle and spout retain their original hand cased detail. Interior of teapot clean as if little used. Set stands firm. Original gold to interior smaller pieces.
