This unique and charming Halcyon Days hinged trinket box measures 1-3/4\" across by 1\" high.

The lid and body are decorated with colorful shoe designs spanning four centuries.

I have yet to find this wonderful retired trinket box for sale anywhere on the internet!

Under the lid is the saying,

\"Now for good luck, cast an old shoe after me\".

A 16th-century English maxim which inspired the association of shoes with good fortune.The well has a repeat of three of the shoe designs from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

The bottom is marked as shown below.

The box is in perfect condition.
