I have found that the ladies inparticular comment on the beauty of this horn when I perform with it,especially at church. This horn is a keeper for you. This horn is astunningly beautiful tri-color with its copper bell and nickel at the end ofthe bell which is indeed a work of art. The large bell gives it a full, unique,mellow sound on soft and melodic music yet it will scream with the best ofhorns when you need it.
Back in its day, Holtondeclared the Super Collegiate to be its “Flagship” trumpet. By comparison totoday\'s trumpets and its quality construction and materials as well as itssound, this horn competes with many professionals today.
The valves workperfectly and the brass metal single-guide makes it impossible to insert avalve incorrectly. The slides move easily. The third-valve ring is fixed andthere is a slot for a lyre. The corks are new. The serial number reads 3012XX(1957-58).
Included is a Holton 7Cmouthpiece and original hard case, both in decent condition.
It will come to youhand-polished, well packed, and wrapped in a soft cloth. It will be oiled andlubed for instant playing - right out of the case.
