Hello, thank you for having a look at our sales. This week we are very excited to be offering the what I believe to be one of our most important sale sales to date, and our Last large sale of the season. This sale offers a wide variety of fine and important Chinese works of art including bronzes, jades, paintings and other rarely found scholarly objects.
The sale features items from two important estate collections, along with some last porcelain examples from the Michael Vermeer collection. We have featured items from both these estate collections in the past and now the estate has asked us to sell the remainder of the collections. They include items from the estate of Mr. H.H Pao of Toronto who owned a high-end shop in the famous Four Seasons hotel in Toronto for several years throughout the 1980s to 1990s period. Mr. Pao was a dear friend whom was considered one of North America’s top experts and scholars in many categories of antique Chinese art. The sale also includes jades and other early Chinese bronze and archaic items from the estate of A Abraham. Mr. Abraham was a highly respected Asian Arts dealer and collector in the 1950-70’s period. He frequently travelled to China, Hong Kong, New York, and London on buying trips at the time. Abraham owned the Imperial Jade shop in the famous King Edward hotel in Toronto until his retirement in the year 1976, 40 years ago. When the shop closed many of the pieces went to Sotheby’s in New York for sale. Abraham kept some of his most favorite examples that we are now offering for sale. Most of the pieces have been in storage since the shop closed in 1976 and have not seen the light of day until now.

Up for sale is a rare and very impressive Chinese early Ming dynasty Imperial Warrior or Immortal Bronze figure. This figure is fully guaranteed to be an authentic Ming dynasty period example so please offer with Full Confidence.
This figure is an astonishing and I believe very rare find. The figure is superbly detailed throughout with particularly fine features to the robe, head dress, and face. The figure shows remnants of early gold gilding and polychrome work and is an original undisturbed (never later re-decorated) example. The figure has an affixed stone base that could be removed if one desired, but in my opinion it complements the figure very nicely. The figure has two small holes to the bronze base portion that could be restored if desired. The figure shows wear and small imperfections consistent with it early age, as should be found on a legitimate early example like this. The figure is overall in very fine original condition with no losses or repairs as seen. The figure is an impressive large size with the figure itself includingbronze base portion measuring 14 inches tall, by 9 inches wide, and 5 inches deep. The figure with stone base measures 17 inches tall. The figure with stone base weighs 9 kilograms or just under 20 pounds. A truly astonishing find.
