You are offerding on: A Lionel Standard Gauge #436 Power StationOriginal Early Colors andcondition, needs cleaning..These were cataloged from 1926-1937, but this one with this color scheme would have been in the early part of the run Terra Cotta, Cream Trim, Gray Base, Green trim and skylight, base of chimney is Mohave, brass plate etc. Looks goodon layouts..always room for another accessory! Base is approx 9 &1/4"x 7 & 3/4".

Lionel prewar accessories mimicked actual structures around NY & NJ. Thomas Edison's plans were to have DC power stations generating electricity for homes,and Railroads near cities needed DC power for electric locomotives so steam engines wouldn't run into the cities causing pollution. So this is a replica of what some of those DC generating power plants looked like.
