This is the assembled Street Front of sidewalk and businesses that was part of The Untouchablesplayset made by Louis Marx in 1961. The playset was based on the popular television show of Elliot Ness and his Federal Agents and their fight against organized crime in Chicago during the Depression of the 1930s; Robert Stack played Elliot Ness, and the figures in the set were modelled after actors who appeared in the show. This playset was in production for only a couple of years as the show went off the air.
The street front is lithographed in full color front and back (interiors). It is in very nice condition with only slight surface wear or scratching; there is a spot of glue(?) residue on the sidewalk in front of the left-side window of the Federal Building. There is a slight bend in the sidewalk at far right.Missing are the two (2) doors of the Bank, the marquee over the Strand Theatre, the two (2) awnings over the windows and two (2) lamps on both sides of the doors to the Federal Building. These were all hard plastic items that were separate in the box and snapped into place on the metal street front.
