Lyon & Healey American Conservatory Tiple Ukulele
Price: US $577.77

Washburn Style 5095 Bell Model Tiple, made by Lyon & Healy, c. 1926, made in Chicago, natural lacquer finish, koa back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. Overall length is 26 3/4 in. (67.9 cm.), 11 in. (27.9 cm.) width, and 3 in. (7.6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 15 3/4 in. (400 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.) When this instrument was made in the first part of the last century, Lyon & Healy was one of the world\'s biggest musical instrument manufacturers, with a number of subsidiary trademarks such as Washburn, Lakeside and American Conservatory. This bell shaped tiple was one of their most, er, \"unique\" designs, and was a part of a bell shaped family that included ukuleles and guitars, none of which sold well in spite of the fact that they sounded quite good. I\'m particularly drawn to their solution for cramming ten tuners into such a tight space.Someone apparently tried to clean the fretboard at one time and gave up after the third fret. I do not have a case for it so it will be professionally packed for shipping.THIS IS A USA ONLY sale!!!
