The original shellac finish on the cabinet is thin in places but presents well thanks to a recent nourishing application of lemon oil beeswax. A plus is the nice condition of the gilt detailed back bracket although the hardware exhibits significant plating wear. The motor runs smooth and fairly quiet, easily playing through a handful of 12\" 78\'s with a full winding.
The paneled Victor flower horn is original however I chose to have it professionally soda blasted as the original paint was heavily flaked off and it had been coated with a glaze. Fortunately there was only a slight amount of surface oxidation and I have since repainted the horn using a special technique to replicate an aged original paint job, complete with an aged Gregg Cline decal.
The original 100,000 serial digit Victor Exhibition reproducer plays well thanks to a cleaning and rebuild with fresh gaskets.
