This is a desirable example of an American Civil War Confederate Foot Officer\'s Sword, M 1850 which is in \"attic\" condition. It is mounted with a blade that measures 31 1/4 inches in length which reflects some aged cleaning from some time ago nevertheless it does remain in good condition with light staining. The brass cast guard has survived nicely still reflecting its beauty in the elegant attention to detail in its pierced work which includes the letters \"C S\" and has now very richly patined with age. Only the dry carved wood of the hilt with just traces of leather and cording are still present but it does remain good and sturdy. The original brass fitted leather scabbard is extremely dry, however the leather stitching is mostly present and tight and all the lovely patined fittings do remain present.
