Gangway for Gansett!!! A Vintage Beer Advertising Tray for "Famous" Narragansett Lager & Ale with graphics designed by Dr. Seuss, 12" diameter, American, ca.1940's. These highly sought-after serving trays are equally appealing to both Breweriana and avid Seuss collectors. Vibrant litho graphics feature Chief Gansett whizzing by on a wheeled contraption with a Seuss Cat saying: "Too Good to Miss!". Interior lip with a great hops and barley motif.

The Seuss-Beer connection might seem a bit odd, but turns out that Rudolf Haffenreffer, Jr. and Theodor Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) were classmates (aka drinking buddies) at Dartmouth College back in the 1920's. "Geisel began signing his work with his middle name so that he could continue to work on the Jack-O-Lantern after he was banned from participating in college activities for having violated Prohibition."
