Rare huge size Farnell \'Wilfred Rabbit\' character toy. Circa 1920\'s.
This fantastic, small size mohair rabbit was manufactured by Farnell during the 1920\'s. He is known as \'Wilfred\'
and was a character in the cartoon strip \'Pip, Squeak and Wilfred\' which featured in the Daily Mirror from 1919 until the 1930\'s.

Wilfred is rare large version of these Farnell rabbits and is a fantastic character toy that looks a bit like a hare to me!
He is 18 inches tall in the sitting position to the top of his head and has extra large ears that add an extra 12\" to his height
and he is completely wood wool stuffed. Wilfred has pale straw coloured mohair with a creamy white bib with some overall
thinning and small bare areas but I would estimate has has retained 85-90% coverage overall. This is a particularly nice Wilfred
with lots of charm and character and all of his orginal features intact including his large back painted glass eyes and red nose
and mouth stitching and his arm joints work well and the strong wire in his ears have no breaks so they can be positioned
too. He has been darned in a couple of places but these are not very noticeable and he is still a strong and sturdy toy.
He would make a wonderful addition to any collection of soft toys or to complete the trio of Pip Squeak & Wilfred.
