Up for offer is an original Pre 1948 Buddy Lee Doll

Buddy Lee dolls were originally produced from 1920 to 1962 by the H.D. Lee Company. They were manufactured for the purpose of advertising the company\'s clothing. Dolls measuring 12.5 inches and made of composition, wereproduced between 1920 and 1948, the 1949 to 1962 Buddy Lee dolls were made of hard plastic and measured 13 inches tall.

The first 12.5 composition type doll was displayed in Lee\'s Dayton store in Minneapolis\' Nicollet Mall. Lee Jeans permitted the dolls to be sold by shops for retail after its purpose for display was done.

This Buddy Lee doll, measures 12 1/2 inches and made of composition. Wearing what I believe is the engineer overalls and hat.

Buddy is a bit dirty where his clothes did not cover, his clothing is a bit dirty as well, I am not sure of the correct way to clean composition dolls, I will leave that to the experts.

As you can see in the pictures, he has a crack on the side of his mouth and his hair has slight fading. His one boot has a hole on the bottom, if you know anything about these dolls, most of the do because they were used for display and held the doll in place. He also has a crack on the top on one boot. Only his arms move and they do not stay up, I am assuming the bands age is the reason.
