I believe this is an original WWII 6th Ranger Battalion grouping belonging to Robert C. Campbell consisting of the following:
Ditty bag - It is dirty, as if it were used overseas.
Bibles - one is named, the other is still in the box.
Patches - 6th Ranger tab and Ranger diamond looks WORN.
Ribbons - Asiatic Pacific and Philippine Service both have 3 battle stars.
Combat Medic Pin made of sterling silver.
A very heavy chunk of metal fragment. It will cling to a magnet.
I picked this up a long time ago and did not even realize there was a name and serial number on the front page of the Bible.
I have no reason to doubt that this group of stuff has been together since the war and are authentic period original items.
I can confirm the person named in the Bible was born in 1911 and enlisted in the Army in Harrisburg, PA in 1943. After that, I am unable to establish anything else.
