SILVERCANDLESTICKS

A pair of Victorian solid silver weighted candlesticks, fully hallmarked forBirmingham 1899 by the maker J Sherwood & Sons.

These impressive looking candlesticksare of the desirable corinthian column form.They feature stepped bases with beeded highlights, the ribbed columnsare topped by removable sconces which have beeded decoration. The sconces have matching partial hallmarks.

These fabulous candlesticksare ingood order with no splits or repairs, there area few little dings around the base edges along with wear on the four corners at the top of each base (see image 5) but overall much less wear than is common for sticks of this age and type.

The candlesticks stand approx15cms tall and have a gross weight of 540 grams. A great pair ofcandlesticks that would grace any dining table or mantlepiece and of a very desirable design.
