DESCRIPTION - Up for your consideration is this rarely available pre-prohibition beer serving tray by RISING SUN BREWING COMPANY out of Elizabeth, New Jersey. The brewery was founded in 1887 and closed in 1920 when prohibition made it illegal to manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages within the United States. As such, this tray is no less than 94 years old and in all likelihood, it is older. The tray features a beautiful woman seated with her left hand on her hip and her right elbow leaning upon a tiger\'s head. The caption reads RISING SUN BREWING CO. ELIZABETH, N.J.The top rim reads SEEBER BREW. The bottom rim reads BOHEMIA BREW and just above it in tiny font in says KAUFMANN & STRAUSS CO. N.Y. - 2910. A very beautiful tray indeed that would add significantly to any breweriana collection.

That being said, this tray was used and has ware throughout as is typical of similar items of this age that were used for their intended purpose for years before being retired as a collectible. It does appear, however that the back *may* have been repainted with gold paint. While I cannot say with 100% certainty, there is the possibility that it may have been.
