 This is a rare old handmade German Amethyst Maglite Clambroth Marble or this might be considered a purple Gooseberry.
The base glass appears to be opaque black in hand, but when back lit it is a deep transparent amethyst color. 
There is also a ghost core running through the center.

It measures approx 21/32\" (.650\").
It has one large chip (shown in several of the pics), fleabites, overall tiny faint hitmarks and surface wear.
