Johnson Cigar Company of Grand Rapids, Michiganand advertises their Exemplar brand of cigar with the slogans \"THE IDEAL 5C CIGAR\" and \"WITH MALICE TOWARDS NONE - WITH CHARITY FORALL\". The lowerright corner of the sign states \"CHAS. W. SHONK CO. LITHO CHICAGO\".
CONDITION: The sign is in very good condition for itsage. The colors are very good but thereare scratches within the oval (no scratches to Abe\'s face), scattered tarnishto the gold background here and there, nicks and paint lose to the black framein places, light surface rust in the corners, and a dent to the bottom portionof the frame. The highly-detailed lithography is outstanding. If you have any questionsplease don’t hesitate to ask.
AGE: The sign dates to approximately the late 1890s to 1900.
