ESW presents, from a fine San Diego estate, this extremely rare 1982 Imhof Pendulettes ship\'s chronometer, replica of a 1796 model by master Swiss clock-maker from the 1700s, Ferdinand Berthoud. Just professionally cleaned and serviced with a new battery installed. The clock maker said the movement is very complicated.
Comes with original leather and plush-lined presentation case, which the chonometer fits snugly into, leaving clock face exposed at top. In the case, chronometer set measures approx. 7\" high x 5\" across. As can be seen in photos, interior of case has some dings. Exterior of case looks fine. Base of clock is engraved: \"Paris Ferdinand Berthoud 1796\". Also \"N 088\" is engraved on a tiny plaque screwed to the chronometer. Chronometer swivels on stand and clock appears to be working. Chronometer itself measures approx. 6 1/2\" high, clock face approx. 2 3/8\" across. Very heavy and substantial, the chronometer weighs approx. 5 1/2 pounds.
