This sale is fora vintage celluloid & tin lithographed clockwork toy of the MarionetteTheater and in Japan by CK (Kuramochi).
Under the shade ofthe tent the Banjo playing clown plays music for the “little dancer” girl whilemoving around the little stage platform! The stage platform is a highlystylized tin lithographed base which sways when played! The dancing figure and clown are both handpainted celluloid – near perfect condition – with stunning realistic detailingand craftsmanship in every small detail!This is a very lively Theaterindeed – clever action as if there is a person above moving the strings ofthese two figurines. The figures are also marked “MY FRIEND”.
This tin andcelluloid toy was tested and WORKS –with lively action and merriment for all attending – a true spectacle ofchildhood joy!
The original boxfor this toy is very difficult to find – and with early paper label delightfulgraphic artwork of the Theater – a wonderful box with nice patina. The box has rubs and signs of age –instructions are printer inside the box top – very nice box for this toy!
