This is a rare large Royal Doulton Tobacco Jar of Old Charley, one of the earliest Royal Doulton Tobies.
\"Old Charley\" is wearing a a dark green coat and a brown hat. The lid has a patent spring-loaded flange closure which keeps it tightly sealed. The Toby tobacco jar has a Royal Doulton backstamp with the British Registration Number 787515, which means the pattern was registered in 1933.
The large sized tobacco jar is 5 3/4 inches tall by 6 inches wide. It weighs 2 lb 2 oz (shipping weight 3 lbs).
Condition: Excellent condition. No chips or cracks, though there is some crazing of the glaze, particularly on the lighter glazes. The the lighter spots on the rim of the hat are under the glaze. Please view the detail photos.
